Decky AI is the AI agent for building and refining presentations in professional services — the category of work where the slide deck itself is the deliverable that gets sent to a client, a committee or a partner. It is distributed as a Microsoft Office Add-in for PowerPoint and runs inside the application, alongside the deck the user already has open. The user describes what they want in a chat panel; Decky AI reads the current slides, plans the work, and applies the changes to the real PowerPoint file.

The defining characteristic is where the work happens. Decky AI operates directly on the PowerPoint file that is already open — not a copy, not a web-based recreation of it. There is no separate web editor, no proprietary intermediate document, and no export or download step. Every shape it produces is a native PowerPoint shape that a colleague can select, move and edit without knowing AI was involved.

How it works

1. Install. The user adds Decky AI to PowerPoint from Microsoft AppSource, or an administrator deploys it centrally through the Microsoft 365 admin center. It appears as a task pane next to the slides.
2. Ask. The user types a request — “turn these bullets into a three-column slide”, “check this deck for inconsistencies”, “build a market-overview section from this Excel file”.
3. The agent reads the deck. Decky AI inspects the slides, the slide layouts and the slide master, so it knows the deck’s actual fonts, colour scheme, grid and placeholder structure rather than guessing at them.
4. The agent plans and acts. It searches for icons, generates images, runs web searches, and reads attached Excel or PDF files as needed, then applies each change to the open presentation.
5. The user reviews. Changes land in PowerPoint as real edits. The user keeps, adjusts or discards them like any other change.

It is built for the category, not adapted to it. In professional services, the deck is not a support document — it is the deliverable. That single fact separates Decky AI from both general-purpose AI assistants and generic AI presentation generators, neither of which is built around a firm-mandated template, a partner review, or a deck that already has 60 pages of history.

It edits, it does not just generate. Most AI presentation tools are generators: describe a topic, receive a new deck. That is the easy half of the job. The hard half is the deck that already exists — the 60-page pitch book that needs a new section, a number corrected on nine slides, and every box snapped back to the grid before a partner sees it. Decky AI is built for that.

It respects the template. Because it reads the slide master and layouts of the open file, output inherits the firm’s real typography, palette and placeholder geometry. There is no “AI-looking” house style to strip out afterwards.

It stays in the tool of record. No copy-paste between a browser tab and PowerPoint, no reformatting after an export, and no second place where the current version of a deck might live.

It works on content, not only layout. Alongside formatting, Decky AI checks decks for typos, inconsistent number and unit formats, broken or orphaned citations, and tone drift across slides.

Data handling is a first-class constraint. EU hosting, zero data retention on slide content, a published subprocessor list, and analytics that enterprise customers can have switched off entirely.

• It does not currently publish a SOC 2 Type II or ISO 27001 certification. Its security position rests on EU data residency, zero retention of slide content, and the contractual safeguards listed on the public subprocessor page.
